The PTFA is made up of every parent, carer and friend of Saint Thomas More Catholic Primary School. As a committee we have to fill certain roles with elected members: Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer. Those roles are nominated and elected, by any member at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) every year in the Autumn Term. All are welcome at every meeting and the more ideas and input we have, the better we work.
The PTFA Committee Members
Toni Hussey – Chair
Hi my name is Toni and I am the Chair on the PTFA. I have a daughter in YR4. I first joined the PTFA when my daughter was in reception, mainly to get to know parents in the school. Since joining I have been involved in many PTFA organised events, made some lovely friends and had a lot of fun in the proces
Charlotte Wilkinson – Vice Chair
I am Charlotte Wilkinson and I am Vice Chair. I have been on the PTFA for nine years since the eldest of our three children was in reception. I have a son at Bishop Ullathorne, a son in year 6 and a daughter in year 4. I am in my second year as a Learning Assistant at the school. I think the PTFA should be about having fun and, along the way, raising money to enrich our children’s education, environment, and experience of their primary school. I would like us to be inclusive of all in our community.
Selina Wilding – Treasurer
I’m Selina Wilding and I am the Treasurer of the PTFA. I have three daughters, two at St Thomas More in Yr6 and Yr4 and one at Bishop Ullathorne in Yr9. I became more involved with the PTFA a year ago, I started off by helping out at some of the many events they organise. In this time I have met many new friends and I now feel more part of the school. The PTFA play a great role in providing so many important resources for our children and I am so glad I made the effort to be part of it.
Angie Cummins – Vice-Treasurer
My name is Angie Cummins, I joined the PTFA when my eldest daughter started Nursery in 2009. I have another daughter currently in Year 4.
During this time, I have seen first-hand the contribution the PTFA makes, organising events and raising valuable funds, resulting in an enhanced school experience for both the children and their families.
Moving forward in my new role as Vice treasurer, I am happy to invest my time to continue this good work, creating a fun environment and ensuring that the school has a bright future.
Julie Hill – Secretary
I am Julie Hill, mum to Freddie in year 4 and Layla in year 1. This year I am the Secretary for the PTFA a role which involves taking the minutes of the meetings, recording actions and following up on them, circulating agendas, as well as being a signatory for the bank account. It has been important for me to be involved with the PTFA over the years initially as a way to find out the school and meet other mums. I also want to help the fundraising effort to help enhance our children’s experiences at school and to provide social events that the children want to come to.
